About the Curator
Hello and welcome to The Flannery Files!
I have been a fan of Flannery O’Connor since I was introduced to her back in high school. I won’t age myself and tell you how long ago that was.
But, I loved her so much that I wound up in an Honors Concentration program in college that focused on the American Catholic experience. It was there that I had the privilege of spending much more time with Flannery and her contemporaries, through the power of the written word and the wonders of modern publishing.
Many years later, I have returned to Flannery in times of great celebration and sadness, in times of aching frustration and surprising redemption, and everything in between. She’s been the stalwart guide through my adult life and it is my great joy to share my love of her, with you (whomever you are).
One more fun fact: I have loved peacocks since I was a very little girl. I think Flannery would have liked that about me. Though I suspect she would have taken issue with many of my other life interests and decisions. As she should.
Bisou bisou,
Ryan McGonigle, M.Ed. & would-have-been PhD candidate (maybe one day).
